2023 Q4 Climate Events (October to December)


As the final stretch of 2023 unfolds, the climate movement gains momentum as diverse stakeholders gather to deliberate, collaborate, and drive impactful actions against the backdrop of climate change. We have listed a series of crucial gatherings and discussions, uniting thought leaders, policymakers, environmentalists, and advocates. 

October 

Event 1: Adaptation Futures 2023 

Date: 2 - 6 Oct 

Location: Montreal, Canada

Adaptation Futures 2023 is a global conference focusing on climate change adaptation strategies, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss innovative approaches and best practices. The event aims to drive collaborative efforts for enhancing resilience to climate impacts.

Event 2: MENA Climate Week 2023

Date: 8 - 12 Oct

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

MENA Climate Week 2023 is a crucial event in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, uniting stakeholders to accelerate climate action and promote sustainability. The focus will be on (1)  Energy systems & industry, (2) Cities, urban and rural settlements, infrastructure and transport, (3) Land, ocean, food & water, (4) Societies, health, livelihoods, and economies. 

Event 3: The Second International Conference on Climate Change and the Role of Nuclear Power 2023: Atoms4NetZero 

Date: 9 - 13 Oct

Location: Vienna, Austria

The event focuses on the integral role of nuclear power in achieving a net-zero carbon future. The conference aims to explore innovative nuclear technologies and their potential contributions to mitigating climate change, fostering discussions on sustainable, low-carbon energy solutions. 

Event 4: A New Vision for Earth: GLF Nairobi 2023 Hybrid Conference

Date: 11 - 12 Oct

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

The event is a gathering of thought leaders, practitioners, and enthusiasts focused on driving transformative change for the environment. The conference explores innovative approaches to sustainable landscape management, biodiversity conservation, and climate action, aiming to inspire a shared vision for a more sustainable and equitable world. 

Event 5: Climate Week 2023: 2nd World Conference on Climate Change & Sustainability

Date: 16 - 18 Oct

Location: Rome, Italy

This is a significant global event aiming to foster dialogues and collaborations to mitigate climate change. The conference brings together experts, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss innovative strategies and actionable approaches to address the climate crisis. 

Event 6: Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week (LACCW 2023)

Date: 23 - 27 Oct

Location: Panama City, Panama

It is a critical event for the region, gathering stakeholders to accelerate climate action and sustainability efforts. The event focuses on sharing regional challenges, opportunities, and innovative solutions to address climate change. 

Event 7: The Climate Chance Association Africa 2023

Date: 23 - 27 Oct

Location: Yaoundé, Cameroon

This event unites 600 African climate stakeholders, focusing on "Sustainable Habitats and Climate Change in Africa." The conference highlights housing sustainability and aligns with international climate goals, aiming to accelerate climate actions ahead of COP28. It provides a platform for diverse non-state actors to showcase solutions and contribute to the Yaoundé Roadmap—a set of actionable recommendations for sustainable habitat action in Africa. 

Event 8: VERGE - The Climate Tech Event

Date: 24 - 26 Oct 

Location: California, USA

The premier climate tech event driving solutions for today's challenges. Leaders from various sectors collaborate to tackle the climate crisis and reimagine a sustainable world. Explore key programs focused on Buildings, Carbon, Energy, Food, Startups, and Transport. Network with 5,000+ professionals and gain insights from inspiring keynotes, breakout sessions, and innovative exhibits.

Event 9: Climate Change 2023

Date: 1 - 2 Nov 

Location: London, England, UK (virtual)

It is a two-day event addressing climate and biodiversity goals through interactive discussions. Leaders from various sectors will explore innovative approaches, particularly nature-based solutions, to accelerate climate action. Hosted by Chatham House, the event precedes the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference (COP 28).

Event 10: Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2023

Date: 13 - 17 Nov 

Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia 

The inaugural global stocktake at COP28 in UAE this December is a crucial moment to advocate rapid and profound transformation. APCW 2023 and Regional Climate Weeks provide a key platform for exchanging climate solutions, challenges, and opportunities across various regions.

Event 11: Net Zero Economy Forum

Date: 22 - 23 Nov 

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

The Forum is set to unite industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and financial representatives. They will engage in comprehensive discussions about net-zero strategies and how to expedite and broaden this transition. This event will feature keynote speeches, discussions, and practical sessions. It aims to foster networking opportunities and serve as a foundation for successful partnership initiatives.

Event 12: WBCSD Council Meeting 2023

Date: 28 - 29 Nov 

Location: Dubai, UAE

The meeting will be done in collaboration with the COP28 Presidency of the United Arab Emirates, WBCSD member companies, and stakeholders. The aim is to amplify the voice of progressive business, advocating for ambitious climate action and heightened accountability.

Event 13: COP28 2023

Date: 30 Nov - 12 Dec 

Location: Dubai, UAE

The meeting will be held in collaboration with the COP28 Presidency of the United Arab Emirates, WBCSD member companies, and stakeholders. The aim is to amplify the voice of progressive business, advocating for ambitious climate action and heightened accountability. 

Event 14: The Budapest Climate Summit

Date: 4 Dec 

Location: Budapest, Hungary

The Budapest Climate Summit is a key event focused on the green transition in the CEE region's economy. It gathers policymakers, industry experts, and sustainable leaders to discuss actions needed to achieve common climate objectives. This annual summit has gained prominence since its inception in 2020, attracting notable global speakers. The event will take place on December 4th at Hotel Marriott Budapest.
